StartUp Founders: AI is an Accelerator, Not A Cheat Code

March 08, 2023 2 mins read

I want to emphasize the importance of understanding the role of AI, specifically ChatGPT, in the day-to-day operations of your business. It is essential to recognize that AI is an accelerator and not a cheat code that can magically solve all your problems or guarantee success.

One thing to note about ChatGPT is that while it may appear extremely impressive to non-experts, experts can easily identify its limitations. If you attempt to rely on it as a cheat code, especially when presenting information to experts, you may find it falling short.

Instead of attempting to exploit AI as a shortcut, startup founders should focus on leveraging ChatGPT to automate and accelerate repetitive tasks. Use it to create frameworks, gather best practices, and improve productivity. This approach allows you to combine the power of AI with your expertise, resulting in a more effective and robust output.

Take, for example, Tesla’s use of AI in its production lines. While the AI technology helps accelerate and optimize the manufacturing process, Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla, has always stressed the importance of human involvement. He once said, “AI will make jobs kind of pointless… but we’ll still need humans to create, improve and maintain the machines.”

Remember that AI, like ChatGPT, is becoming increasingly commoditized and widely available. If you only rely on AI-generated content, you risk blending in with the masses. Instead, use AI as a tool to enhance your knowledge and expertise, allowing your startup to stand out from the competition.
